Recognised as one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier collections, the Gallery houses an excellent collection of New Zealand works and has significant holdings of European art, Japanese prints and decorative arts. This stellar collection was established, and continues to grow, through gifts by generous benefactors or purchases by the Gallery’s founding organisation, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society.
