TEEN WRITING COMPETITION in collaboration with Dunedin Public Libraries and Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature. Entry is restricted to those from Year 9 to Year 13. One entry per person, with a maximum of 750 words. Closing date for entries is 28 October 5pm. Judges are poet, art writer, and editor of Landfall David Eggleton; and Bridget Schaumann, President of School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa. PLUS prizes for the three winners. Friends Talk

HOOPER’S WORLD. Michael Findlay, lecturer and writer relating to the arts and architecture, will talk on The Basil Hooper Project, which supports the recognition of this architect and the houses he designed for Dunedin residents. There will also be a brief discussion on workshopping (research with regards architecture and Hooper homes, and more) by Susan Irvine from Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga.
