Exploring Art Through Creative Writing Level 3-4
Let art be the springboard for poetry and prose. Students will be guided through a technique of responding to an artwork by expressing thoughts and feelings on cards and then selecting and arranging these to form an expressive piece of writing.
Pictures That Tell Stories Level 3-4
Pictures often illustrate a scene from a story. Usually this scene is the most dramatic moment. The artist is showing us what is in their imagination. How does it match up with the pictures you have in your mind? How can you use rich language to describe this scene? Will you write as a narrator or one of the characters?
Word Play Level 3-4
Make words come to life by shaping the letters to convey the concept. For example ‘fire’ written in flames and ‘ice’ in block letters melting with cracks.
