New DPAG Curatorial Intern for 2018: James Hope

The Gallery is delighted to welcome our first curatorial intern for 2018, James Hope.

James hails from Christchurch where he completed his studies at the University of Canterbury; his Honours thesis focusing on the history of offsite projects undertaken by the Physics Room contemporary art space, where he also volunteered since returning from Melbourne in 2013.

He has been a Visitor Host at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū since 2014 and co-founded artist-run space MAN FRIDAY with two others in 2015.

James' recent writing has appeared in The Pantograph Punch, Circuit Artist Film and Video Aotearoa New Zealand, HAMSTER issue 1, December 2017 and An Audacious Decade: Celebrating Canterbury's Sound Community.
