A documentary film exploring artist Dan Welden’s approach to printmaking, his artistic process and his philosophy around making art. Told in chapters through the thoughts and observations of his friends and colleagues including Kiki Smith, Eric Fischl, Alice Aycock, Helen A. Harrison among others. This film conveys the essence of the artist and explores inspirations and motivations that drive the act of creativity.
Dan Welden is a renowned painter/printmaker and teacher from New York. Welden pioneered the development of non-toxic solar printmaking. He is the Caselberg Trust’s 2024 InPrint Resident, taking up residency for the month of February.
This film is 60 minutes long, the artist Dan Welden will be available after the screening for a Q&A. Directed by Carl Welden.
