Artist Talk

with Nick Austin

Saturday 6 June | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

A floor talk with Nick Austin and DPAG Curator Lucy Hammonds on the opening weekend of Austin’s exhibition What Did People Do All Day?, part two of Suite 2026. This exhibition brings together a collection of recent and recontextualised found-object sculptures characterised by Austin’s interest in the intersection of art, museology, and social history.

In 2012, after studying at Auckland University of Technology and Elam School of Fine Arts in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Austin was awarded the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship. This prized yearlong residency in Ōtepoti firmed his footing in the city, and he has remained living here since.

Suite is a regular exhibition series dedicated to artists living and making from Ōtepoti Dunedin.

FREE 11am Saturday 6 June
