Bind Your Own Book

Join practicing artist Jenny Hjertquist for a morning of bookmaking at DPAG.

Learn how to create a secret Belgian book binding, invented in the 1980s and inspired by Japanese stab binding. This technique uses sewing skills which result in a playful thread patterned spine and allows the book to lay flat when in use.

Please note, this is an adult workshop suitable for attendees aged 18 years and over, beginners welcome and all materials are supplied. Optional: Bring along your own special paper to bind (handmade, coloured, textured), and any special decorations for your book cover.
