Copyright, Intellectual Property and Visual Arts

FREE Workshop with Karen Workman

Monday 5 May | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

A hui for all practicing visual artists in collaboration with Ara Toi Ōtepoti

Are you a painter, illustrator, ceramicist, sculptor, textile artist, carver, jeweller, printmaker, photographer, or any sort of visual artist?

Do you know what to do if your designs suddenly appear for sale online, but you have nothing to do with it?

Want to know more about safeguarding your intellectual property and getting royalties if your works are resold?

Karen Workman from Copyright Licensing NZ will answer all these questions and more during this hui for all practicing visual artists.

Whether you’re emerging, established, or anywhere in-between, we invite you to come along, meet Karen, and learn more about how copyright applies to your arts practice.

You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your own work, fill in any gaps in your knowledge, and kōrero with other Ōtepoti arts practitioners.

Bring along:

  • Questions about copyright and intellectual property that relate to your practice
  • Images/photos of your works to share and discuss if you wish
  • A positive attitude!

This is a free and whānau-friendly event: we will be providing activities for any tamariki accompanying you, so that you can learn, and your tamariki can play!

FREE 5.30pm–7.30pm Monday 5 May
