Drop-in Printmaking Workshop #2
Led by Artist Kate Stevens West
Saturday 11 April | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Create an artwork inspired by the many amazing native plants and animals living around Ōtepoti from in-land areas, to our beautiful coastline. These taoka species, such as pakake and tī kōuka, are precious features of our unique landscape to cherish. This activity will be guided by Ōtepoti-based artist Kate Stevens West, and the printmaking method uses specially hand-carved stamps which are friendly for the whole family.
Kate Stevens West (Kāi Tahu, Pākehā) is an artist living in Ōtepoti. Kate studied at Otago University, and graduated with a Masters in Design Studies. She paints whakapapa, including our mammalian ancestors and taoka species. She imagines a dynamic integration of past, present and future, a place where different generations meet, collide, hold on and let go, in a series of transformative encounters.
Suitable for all ages. Parents or caregivers must be present at all times.
FREE 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm, Saturday 11 April
