Experimental Music at the Gallery

Improvisers Hermione Johnson (extended piano) and Reuben Derrick (saxophones) will play together with Ro Rushton-Green (violin/reeds) and Gabriel Griffin (drums), their sounds resonating throughout the atrium and foyer of the Gallery. 

The musicians acknowledge the art exhibition created by Scott Eady which can be seen on the Big Wall, and consists of a neon welcome to the day: Ata Mārie Ōtepoti; how are you today?  Situated on the floor are two beautifully crafted seats that the artist has made using part of a piano that has had a rich local history.
