Soft Power and the Politics of Ornament: Reflections on Jasmina Cibic’s Charm Offensive

Join Professor Federico Freschi, Head of College of Te Maru Pūmanawa Creative Practice and Enterprise at the Otago Polytechnic, for a discussion on questions of the power, possibilities and politics of architecture prompted by Jasmina Cibic’s film The Gift. This evening talk is offered in association with current exhibition Charm Offensive by Jasmina Cibic.

Freschi holds a PhD in Art History from the University of the Witwatersrand and recently co-edited and published within the book The Politics of Design – Privilege and Prejudice in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and South Africa (2021).
