Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance

Visit the Gallery for a special Sunday morning performance by dancer and choreographer Jeremy Beck. This special offering will give a glimpse into the work being developed during his Otago Arts Fellowship period. Jeremy will perform alongside a group of dance and music collaborators within the exhibition Te Ahikāroa - Artists & Stories of Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

Born in Ōtepoti, Jeremy Beck is a contemporary dancer, teacher and choreographer of Ngāi Tahu and Pākehā descent. Following his training at the New Zealand School of Dance, he has over a decade of experience performing and choreographing for leading dance companies including Footnote New Zealand Dance, The New Zealand Dance Company, and Atamira Dance Company.

Jeremy returned to Ōtepoti in 2025 to present his work Commentary of Dreaming in the Dunedin Arts Festival. The show was performed in collaboration with community dancers and offered a meditative reflection on 27 years of life as he approached his own Saturn return. In 2026 Jeremy has returned to Ōtepoti once again to undertake the Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka Otago University, and is working in collaboration with a group of community dancers.
