A REAR WINDOW PROJECT

SEO Story by Auckland-based artist Luke Munn presents a materialised version of best practice search engine optimization techniques. Munn weaves together keywords from Dunedin tourism sites, local landmarks and wiki-entries into a narrative. The tale explores the use of language in a space of content-farms and adwords, enticing readings into mentally activating 'top of the mind' terms that Dunedin seeks to embody.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a process associated with websites, where keywords or 'title tags' are encoded into a website, in order to maximise viewer numbers. The increase in viewer numbers ensures the particular website is high on the list of results returned back by the search engine.
