NOM*d Fashion Films

Rear Window

29 March 2025 - 6 July 2025

Complementing the DPAG exhibition THIS IS NOM*d, these four short fashion films were originally presented alongside the label’s collections, offering creative insights into the inspiration and mood of each season.

Fans 2014
Dir. Richard Shaw. Digital Video 3:04 min.
Reimagining Yoko Ono’s 1964 Cut Piece, NOM*d team members stage the performance on a model wearing a look from the SS2013/14 collection. An evocative soundtrack pairs Ono’s Midsummer New York with Maria Callas’s rendition of “Un Bel Di Vedremo.”

Caveat Emptor 2006
Dir. Richard Shaw. Digital Video, 10:45 min.
Meaning “let the buyer beware,” this film unveils a romantic journey: a couple wanders ocean-side sandhills, a dark forest, and a villa at dusk, ultimately drifting into dreams clouded by a white silk parachute.

I Will be Good 2014
Dir. Delphine Avril Planqueel and Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, Digital Video, 3:24 min.
NOM*d’s SS2014 collection comes to life in a late-century modernist school building, where dramatic architecture underscores models evoking the cool nonchalance of a well‐dressed day in detention.

Bored Games 2005
Dir. Richard Shaw. Digital Video, 4:20 min.
A model’s poised knife game on a chess board gives way to a dynamic display on squash courts, where sports equipment and a symbolic knife frame the SS2004/05 collection as Dunedin Band Bored Games play Happy Endings.
