Emily Floyd
DPAG International Visiting Artist 2022
2 August 2022
The international visiting artist programme is a major feature in our annual exhibition calendar. While our closed borders led to a pause in international visitors, this week we are excited to welcome Emily Floyd, our Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa International Visiting Artist for 2022. Floyd comes to us from Melbourne, where alongside her own practice she is also Senior Lecturer in the Fine Art Program at Monash Art Design and Architecture. Her work explores histories of play, using this to delve into public philosophy, socially engaged design, typography and the legacies of modernism. Currently in Ōtepoti on a research visit, Floyd will return later in the year to install her new exhibition, alongside workshops and events designed to create a space of engagement and interaction within the gallery.Noho ora mai Lucy HammondsKairauhī Curator, Dunedin Public Art Gallery The Dunedin Public Art Gallery Visiting Artist Programme is supported by Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa
