I think I'm homesick

Warisara Thomson

20 August 2024

On Monday 19th August, Warisara Thomson’s work I think I’m homesick (2021) was installed in the Gallery’s Rear Window. With an art practice exploring themes of distance, cultural identity, and Thai political discourse, Thomson’s I think I’m homesick takes the viewer on an intimate journey through her hometown of Ban Chang in Rayong, Thailand. Incorporating satellite and personal archival imagery, street view footage and narration, this work celebrates sites of significance, memories, and storytelling, while also highlighting experiences of displacement and the rapid growth of urban environments.

Warisara Thomson’s I think I’m homesick is on display until 13 October 2024.
