Kā mihi o te wā o Hineraumati, Meri Kirihimete
17 December 2024
From the team at Dunedin Public Art Gallery, we wish a happy, safe, and creative festive season to all our friends and supporters.
Throughout the year we have been working to celebrate artists and ideas, bring art history to life, and to encourage all our visitors to nurture their own spark of creativity. Visit over the summer months to see our newest range of exhibitions. From Groundbreakers, which celebrates the innovations of Frances Hodgkins, Grace Joel and their contemporaries, to 5364 nocturne, the newest work by our International Visiting Artist Shireen Taweel. Angela Tiatia’s The Dark Currentis expanded by the lush Hibiscus Rose Sinensis, which is now screening in the Rear Window.
If you are looking for free and creative whānau activities, drop in and make some festive decorations together or pick up the ArtSpy and take a tour around the new exhibition Déjà Vu. Our Nohoaka Guide offers a fresh path through the collection in Huikaau, and there are lots of free gallery posters for our visitors to take home.
There is an exciting programme ahead for 2025, including a major work with Mataaho Collective launching in February. We look forward to seeing you all in the galleries soon.
Kā mihi nui ki a koutou,
