Kate Fitzharris Talk

A Glimpse into The DPAG Ceramic Collection

Tuesday 7 November | 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Suite 2023 contributing artist Kate Fitzharris leads attendees on a journey through selected pieces from DPAG’s ceramic collection.

In this session, Kate will focus on artists and works that have intrigued and inspired her, and that have shaped her own relationship with clay.

Her selection of pieces includes a variety of objects that capture her interest, created by several makers, although predominantly from Aotearoa, such as Doreen Blumhardt a prominent ceramicist and educator of the twentieth century, but also includes practical ceramics such as an 18th century Bellarmine jug.

Kate Fitzharris is an artist in Suite 2023, a biennial exhibition of Ōtepoti Dunedin based artists. Her exhibition, Looking at things as a whole, plays with scale and form – offering an opportunity to explore a sculptural language that makes reference to functional objects, such as vases and pots, as well as to representations of the human form.

FREE 5.30pm Tuesday 7 November in the DPAG Auditorium
