Nicola Farquhar

Celebrated for her use of vibrant colour, layered and textural surfaces, and geometric forms, Nicola Farquhar’s paintings carry a unique visual language. Her paintings act as a visual record of her ideas and research, which often look to science fiction tropes, storytelling and language, flora and fauna, and geometry as subject matter. Exploring the relationships and intersections that exist between different forms and materials, Nicola Farquhar: Stars, lands brings together paintings, video, and a publication, developed out of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery’s Aotearoa New Zealand Visiting Artist Programme.
