An International Visiting Artist Project
2 November 2019 - 23 February 2020
OPAVIVARÁ! are an artist collective with four members, who are primarily based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The collective's practice takes a performance-based approach to create situations for interaction and participation in the gallery and public space – highlighting the importance and transformative power of bringing people together through shared experience. Their works are both political and engaging, responding to contemporary life, social and economic issues, and the environment. This exhibition, the outcome of the 2019 International Visiting Artist Programme, will bring together Rede Social (a giant hammock) and Paje Curumim (communal tea stations) together with new work produced in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
