Farewell to our Curatorial Intern, Anna McLean

Haere tū atu, hoki tū mai

4 June 2024

This week we say farewell to Anna McLean, who over the past 12 months has been working in our team as Ihupukutaka Kairauhī Curatorial Intern.  Anna’s time at DPAG has been filled with projects, learning all the different aspects of working as a curator in our busy team. Her exhibition Giovanni Intra: Side Effects revealed her in-depth research skills, with new discoveries that make a significant contribution to the ongoing study of this artist. Alongside this Anna has also developed a successful programme for our Rear Window screenings, which we are excited to bring to audiences over the rest of 2024. Although we are sad to see her leave, we are excited to know that Anna is moving on to a full-time curatorial role just up the road at Oamaru’s Forrester Gallery Te Whare Taoka o Waitaki.

Our thanks to Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa for their support that enables us to offer this unique training opportunity for art curators.

For those travelling through Ōtautahi Christchurch over the upcoming months, there is another chance to visit our exhibition Marilynn Webb – Folded in the hills, which opens at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū on Saturday 8 June.  Visit their website for all the details.
