Ōtepoti Dunedin Artist Residency
The impacts of the global covid-19 pandemic have been far-reaching, turning many of us towards different ways of working. The temporary halt to international travel has had an immediate effect on our internationally residency, which in turn has opened up an exciting opportunity to focus at how an artist residency might look at this moment in time. Looking to our local art community, the team at Dunedin Public Art Gallery is pleased to announce a one-off 2020 Ōtepoti Dunedin Public Art Gallery Artist in Residence. This unique situation has given us the chance to reframe the 12-week international residency into a longer-term, part time residency, designed to support an artist working here in Ōtepoti Dunedin over an extended period of time. We are excited to announce that we will be working with Scott Eady as artist in residence, supporting Eady in realising a number of long-term projects that are deeply grounded in the community and location of Ōtepoti Dunedin. Nationally and internationally recognised, Eady brings experience and insight to this project and we’re looking forward to seeing how this project evolves over the upcoming months.
This residency is generously supported by Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa and Dunedin School of Art.
